About Us/Mission Statement
ABOUT US:
The Forty-Seven Eighty-Five (4785) Project is a Fund Raising/Capital Raising Effort to create a voice for Our four-legged family members by focusing on the big issues facing the entire canine/feline community today. This Project will be dedicated to creating various Foundations, assisting Organizations/Businesses that are already making great strides to protect every Dog/Cat they can & making sure that EVERY DOG/CAT has a great & happy place to call their FOREVER HOME.
THE MISSION:
Our Mission is clear. All across the World, Our collective Best Friends are suffering from all types of abuse, which we all can admit, must be STOPPED. From abandonment on the streets, particularly dangerous highways, whenever it suits the "Owner's needs", to treating these loyal creatures like prisoners and confining them to shelters for reasons they do not understand or can process.
How would you feel to be discarded? How would you feel to be in your home one day and then in a cell the next? How would you feel if you were mistreated and did not know why only to have it continue to happen?
These issues and many more are occurring every minute of every day to the Dogs/Cats we call Our Family and solutions are needed NOW. Some Organizations and Businesses have found ways to make CHANGE as you read this, but a few ships does not an Armada make. More solutions will be needed to make things right for the animals we love and trust to protect us and Our children while we sleep.
They DESERVE BETTER.
The Initiatives we plan on implementing with the Funds collected will start and continue to help towards the betterment of the canine/feline population. Focusing on Animal Abuse Prevention & Awareness to educate those who are or are thinking of becoming parents to a Dog/Cat as well as what that means and the responsibility beforehand. More Animal Protection Laws to treat the abuse of a Dog/Cat as a crime in all fashions possible and much more.
Most of all, a complete renovation of the Animal Shelter System which should focus on rehabilitation, transition and protection instead of just "cold" cells that constitute temporary housing. Happier surroundings create happier Dogs/Cats, so replacing cells with warm, comfortable spaces to better their difficult transition, mentally as well as physically, will help in the long term, especially with a truly dedicated staff as a new support system.
There are many locations around the World that are currently doing this, but EVERY, SINGLE SHELTER SHOULD BE THIS WAY. Not just the Private ones, not just the Sanctuaries, but EVERY SHELTER.
The deep love a Dog/Cat will give to its new family, to those taking care of them and the way they will dedicate themselves in the process is most definitely worth the CHANGES that MUST be made.
